Applying the Enneagram for Inner Transformation: Growing Beyond your Personality
Understanding and doing effective work with your instincts, subtype, and type passion with Beatrice Chestnut and Uranio Paes, founders of Chestnut Paes Enneagram Academy
Who this is for:
- People interested in doing transformational work using the Enneagram
- Participants of this workshop can range from Enneagram beginners to seasoned enneagram enthusiasts
Overview and Benefits:
Once you know your Enneagram type, how do you apply insights from Enneagram map to really grow and create positive change in your life?
This workshop consists of a mix of theoretical and experiential approaches designed to help students integrate the necessary information and competencies to go beyond their personality constraints. The focus of the 2 days will be on how to work with specific aspects of the Enneagram system to produce lasting results. We will present theory, practices, and activities designed to accelerate your inner work and help you enjoy a happier and more fulfilling life.
We believe that Enneagram work should empower students of the system to make real progress in moving beyond the fixed perspective and hard-to-change tendencies associated with their personality patterns. Using the Enneagram should not be limited to just an understanding of the Nine Types—even if a deep and long-term study of the types may not lead to real change.
The ability to make significant inner shifts requires three things that we will explore at this workshop:
- A clear understanding of the key psychic structures to be addressed in doing effective Enneagram-based inner work:
- the instinctual sequences (which of your 3 instincts is “dominant” or “repressed,”
- your specific subtype patterns (how your dominant instinct and lower emotional center play a role in driving everything you do) and
- your type’s passion—an ever-present emotional focus that plays a central role in motivating you to do the things you do.
- Clarity around the most efficient methods for working on each of these elements of the psyche’s structure
- Opportunities for practice and experiential learning during the workshop
Direct involvement in terms of volunteering to do the more experiential or deeper activities will be optional for participants. However, all participants will be asked to be open-minded and open-hearted as we invite you to learn more about how to face the challenges involved in doing the work we all need to do to grow beyond our personality patterns. And, be ready to be surprised with new concepts and ideas about yourself and the Enneagram.
